Crown / Tooth Cap

A crown, or tooth cap, is made out of a type of ceramic, and it covers your tooth like a cap on a soda bottle. It is colored to match your other teeth as closely as possible, and it is custom milled and fitted to your tooth. Teeth can need a crown for many reasons: previous root canals, large fillings needing replacement, lack of healthy tooth structure, wear from grinding, and more. Teeth with crowns can still get cavities, so be sure to keep them clean with good brushing and flossing!

Having a crown made typically occurs in 2 appointments, but make take fewer or more appointments depending on your individual needs. Usually we will “prep” the tooth down in size and take impressions in the first appointment, then we will “deliver” the final crown at a second appointment.

Implant

Implants are a great options to replace one or several missing teeth. An implant is similar to a screw that goes in the bone. They are made out of titanium and designed to be bio-compatible and integrate into the surrounding bone. They are typically placed by surgeons and can take 2-6 months to heal before a tooth is attached to it.

The part of the implant you see in the mouth is called a “crown.” Once your implant is healed, we will take impressions to make your crown and the piece that connects the crown to the implant, called the abutment.

Implants are great because they do not come in and out, they cannot get cavities, they very esthetic, and the other natural teeth do not need to be modified to have an implant. They DO have to be kept very clean, because they can suffer from bone loss.

Snap-in Denture or Partial

Dentures and partials are prosthetics that are designed to clip in and out of the mouth. Because they clip in and out, they can move during speech and chewing. Partials also typically have a metal clip that goes over the natural teeth to help hold it in place. Often, we can add one or several implants to clip your denture or partial into so that it stays in place better without metal clips showing. this is called an overdenture, and options can be customized to balance cost, function and esthetics.

Retainers

We can make any type of retainer to keep your teeth straight and functioning healthy! We also offer sports guard, pro sports guards, combat guards, night guards, and TMJ splint therapy.

Veneer

Whether your teeth are chipped, arranged in a way that you don’t like, severely stained, or unappealing in some way, one option for repair might be a veneer.

A veneer is made out of ceramic and covers the front side of your tooth similar to the way an acrylic fingernail is glued on. Sometimes the tooth needs to be shaved down in ways that cannot be undone, but sometime veneers can be made with minimal tooth structure removal.

Let us know if you are interested, and we will talk you through the process and can even digitally simulate your new smile and then give you an option to try on your new smile before proceeding with treatment.

Partial / Flipper / Nesbit / RPD

If you are missing several teeth and need a more economic option to replace several teeth at once, a removable partial denture may be a good option for you.

A removable partial denture can me made with a metal base or plastic base that clips into the remaining teeth. These clips often show somewhat when smiling or speaking. Plastic or porcelain teeth are attached to the partial with pink plastic designed to match the surrounding gum tissue.

Some people use a temporary partial such as an essix retainer or a flipper during the healing phase of an implant or while determining a final treatment plan.

Because they clip in and out, partials can move, rub, and they are not for everyone. Let’s talk more about your tooth replacement options to determine what fits your individual needs best.

Non-removable (fixed) Denture

Another alternative to a denture or overdenture is an “All on4,” “All on 5,” “All on 6,” etc. These are fixed dentures that attach to 4, 5, 6, etc implants in the gums. They do not clip in and out and can only be removed by your dentist for cleanings every 6 months. The screws in these denture often need to be replaced yearly, and the teeth in them can need repair or replacement over time as well. They can be made out of plastic, porcelain, and sometimes have a metal base that doesn’t show. They are a great solution, but not for every patient. Talk to us about your options.

Whitening

We offer several types of whitening, with our KOR system being the most effective and popular option. KOR products are preservative and filler free, with brighter results and less sensitivity than competitors.

Bridge

If you are missing a tooth, one replacement option may be a bridge. A dental bridge is similar to a bridge over water that is supported by the ground on either side and spans a gap with nothing under it. A dental bridge need to be attached to teeth on either side of the missing space. These teeth are “prepped” down, an impression is made, and then a ceramic bridge is made that covers the teeth that will support the bridge AND contains the replacement tooth that will sit in the missing space.

Bridges are cemented in place, so they do not come in and out. It is extremely important to keep the teeth holding the bridge clean by brushing and flossing because these teeth can still get cavities, infections, and gum disease.

Denture / Plate

If you are missing or have problems with most or all of your teeth on the top, bottom or both, a denture can be a BEAUTIFUL way to restore your confidence, smile, and chewing ability.

Our dentures typically take at least 5 appointments to custom design and fabricate because we want to make sure that your new teeth look and feel as best as possible.

For many people, top dentures can hold in well with a good “suction” to the gums, but bottom dentures tend to move more during speech and chewing. Often, we recommend at least 2 implants on the bottom the “snap” the denture into. We will discuss your individual situation and determine the best direction to give you as natural and beautiful of a smile as possible.

Invisalign / Clear Aligners

We offer clear aligner therapy in our office for early start, teens, and adults. The process is simple, and we will work with you to determine a monthly payment plan that fits your budget.

We digitally scan your teeth and send off our plan to improve the alignment of your teeth. Often we add tooth colored buttons to your teeth the day we give you your aligners to help move your teeth the way we plan. The trays are clear and most people are comfortable wearing them without noticing anything after 1-2 weeks.

Snap-on Smile

We offer this option to temporarily try out changes in tooth shape, color, or alignment, and we finalize with ceramic veneers.
